Lev Nikolayevich Kekushev was a great architect, an “architect-encyclopedist,”
as his contemporaries called him. He played
an important role in shaping Moscow Art Nouveau.

Kekushev’s body of work also includes designs for several buildings of the Imperial Moscow Technical School.
In 1898–1899, Lev Nikolayevich taught at IMTS. Alongside the Mechanical Laboratory building, located deep within the school grounds, the Chemical Laboratory building
was constructed to a design by L. N. Kekushev.

Concept

The bureau’s task was to create the atmosphere
and feel of university interiors from the late 19th–early 20th century. The building will be adapted as an academic building for one of the country’s leading technical universities — Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
